1. What cookies are
Cookies are small text files stored on your device by your browser. Similar technologies, such as local storage, perform comparable functions. We use them to keep you signed in and to remember preferences you have asked us to remember.
2. What the Platform sets today
- Strictly necessary: authentication and session state required to sign in and keep your session secure. These cannot be switched off through our interface.
- Functional (local storage): in-browser preferences such as saved self-assessment progress and your dismissal of the cookie notice. These stay on your device and are not tracking identifiers.

The Platform does not set analytics, advertising, or marketing cookies, and no third-party analytics script loads. If analytics is enabled in future, this policy will be updated first, the provider will be named, and consent will be requested where the law requires it.
3. Third-party cookies
Some cookies may be set by third parties whose services we use. Our payment provider, Stripe, may set cookies in connection with payment and fraud prevention during checkout, governed by the Stripe Privacy Policy. No other third party sets cookies through the Platform today.
4. Consent
The Platform sets only what is strictly necessary to sign you in and keep your session secure, together with in-browser preferences you have asked us to remember. Under EU and UK law these are exempt from the consent requirement. We therefore do not ask for cookie consent, and there is no cookie consent for you to withdraw.
We display a notice describing what we set. That notice informs you; it does not ask you to choose, because at present nothing is set that requires a choice.
If we later set analytics, advertising, or any other non-essential cookie, we will update this policy first, and we will request your consent through a mechanism that lets you accept, refuse, and later withdraw as easily as you gave it, before any such cookie is set.
5. Managing cookies
You can control or delete cookies through your browser settings. Blocking strictly necessary cookies will prevent you from signing in or using authenticated features.
Some browsers offer a Do Not Track signal. There is no common standard for how it should be interpreted, so we do not respond to it. We also take no action on a Global Privacy Control signal, because we set no advertising or analytics cookies and we neither sell nor share personal information. If either of those facts changes, we will update this policy and respond to the applicable signal.
6. Changes
We may update this policy as we add features or providers. Material changes will be posted with a revised effective date.
